Tom has more than 35 years of experience at a variety of project scales from 800-acre master planning efforts to a 5000-square foot rooftop garden. Tom is known for designing engaging landscapes for some of the most discerning local, national, and global clientele. The studio he established in 1998, oslund.and.assoc. has consistently produced award-winning work, tallying over 65 local, national, and international awards.
Tom received the Star Tribune “Artist of the Year” Award in 2012 for his integration of art in urban design. His belief in the collaborative process of working closely with clients, architects, engineers, fabricators, and artists has yielded positive results and international recognition as an innovator when it comes to solving complex site design challenges. Tom has also taught and lectured world-wide on his work.

As a principal and partner in the firm since 1998, Tadd has the responsibility for the design and management of oslund.and.assoc.’sÂ largest and most significant projects. Tadd has over 24 years of experience on several projects ranging in size from residential projects, courtyards, and gardens to large campuses and professional sports facilities. His ability to take ideas and develop them into working solutions are outstanding and his passion for construction and technology merge together beautifully during the course of the design process. From early ideas to construction supervision, Tadd’s creativity is apparent. His experience on large, complex site projects and his ability to manage the construction process has contributed to many of theÂ award-winning projects for the firm. Tadd’s positive attitude and uncompromising desire for excellence has made clients, contractors and consultants pleased to have had the experience of working with him. Tadd was honored by the American Society of Landscape Architects by becoming a Fellow in the fall of 2010 based on his outstanding accomplishments and professional excellence of his work.

She is known for working collaboratively with a variety of design disciplines through all phases of the design process. Misa worked at landscape architecture/urban planning offices in Tokyo and Osaka where she acquired experience in international projects with some of the leading U.S. firms. Upon receiving her Masterâ€™s Degree in Landscape Architecture from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She joined oslund.and.assoc. in 1998 in the MInneapolis office. In 2002, Misa transferred to Chicago to begin the establishment of oslund.and.assoc. in Chicago. Misa brings an excellent sense of organization and nurturing to each client and project she is involved with. Her design sensibility, intellect, and project management skills are integral to the sucessful trajectory of each project. She, too, has been integral to the success of the Chicago office and the receipt of design awards that the office has received over the past 18 years.

Joe joined oslund.and.assoc. in 1998 as one of the creative designers in the office. He balances design ideas with a facile understanding of the technological requirements of site design on complicated design challenges. Joe recieved his Masters degree from the Harvard Graduate School of Design with an emphasis on understanding the possibilities of merging environmental systems with creative landform expression. His ability to shape the land in a sensitive and artful way makes him an asset to any project. Joe’s interest in grading or ground plane manipulation yields beautiful solutions to complex site situations. His ability to interact with the various engineering disciplines needed throughout the project insure a technically sound and exceptional result. His variety of experience includes park design, campus master planning, waterfront planning/design and water resource planning, residential design, and large-scale site engineering. Joe currently holds the faculty chair position in the Department of Landscape Architecture at the University of Minnesota.

In addition to a MLA degree from the University of MN, Sandra holds a BS in Environmental Science â€“ Hydrology/Climatology, and an MSc in Physical Geography from the University of British Columbia, Canada. Her skill in blending scientific and design thinking makes her an excellent addition to the studio, as does her proficiency in presentation graphics, 3D modeling, and urban design explorations using Revit. Sandraâ€™s involvement on projects ranges from broad-scale master planning to small smallâ€“site design, with a focus on sustainability in corporate/academic campus environments. Sandra blends the worlds of science, and research, and design by contributing her deep understanding of the social and ecological function of the environment and its ethical stewardship to each of her projects. As a LEED AP, Sandra views the green building movement as a great opportunity to enrich our projects with the careful integration of sustainability with artful design and innovation. She works from project inception through LEED certification to ensure that our clientsâ€™ sustainability goals are met, while seeking opportunities to educate the public about the relationship between our natural and built environments.

Han joined oslund.and.assoc. in 2012 and quickly grew to become a crucial member of the professional team. Highly detail-oriented and work-focused, she delivers exceptional work on sophisticated construction projects. She applies holistic and systematic thinking in master planning and design projects to provide innovative solutions to complicated issues. Her experience in the landscape architecture practice ranges from private residential projects to hundred-acre master plans. Han has design interest in urban environment, waterscape, and brownfield design.Â Her design philosophy is deeply influenced by her dual-culture background, allowing her to provide projects with her own unique character, cultural interpretation, and inspiration. Devoted to and passionate about her work, Han pursues simplicity, functionality, and artistry in design. Han also currently is an adjunct assistant professor in the University of Minnesota College of Design.

After receiving a Bachelor of Science in plant biology from the University of Illinois/Champaign Urbana, Mya received her Masterâ€™s in ecological management at Duke University.Â Mya then moved to the San Francisco Bay area and started a landscape contracting firm, Fiddlehead Gardens, managing the project design and construction for residential and commercial clients. After moving to Minnesota in 2013, she received her Masters of Landscape Architecture from the University of Minnesota. HerÂ thesis concentrated on the benefit of creating pollinator habitat in urban areas. Her diverse career in different regions of the United States has made her a valuable associate with OAA. Mya designs in an intentional manner, focusing on designing landscape architecture that supports valuable ecosystem services.

Rebeccah joined oslund.and.assoc in 2015 as a receptionist but quickly expanded from that role into handling a large variety of different office needs. In addition to managing the office, she assembles marketing materials, drafts and executes proposal documents, organizes scheduling, and sees to the day-to-day needs of all staff. She graduated with a BA from the University of Minnesota – Duluth, with a double major of philosophy and music, with voice as her instrument of study. While her educational background does not lie in landscape architecture, Rebeccah utilizes her creative and organizational skills from her artistic training to offer fresh insight to projects at oslund.and.assoc.
